Who is Dyadic Tutoring ideally suited for?

  • Students showing signs of mental stress (anxiety, depression) from school demands, or as a result of a recent negative event (divorce, death in family, poor grades) 
  • Students struggling with time/organization or cognitive processing issues 
  • Students diagnosed with mental health illness (depression, anxiety, ADD) which is impacting academic performance/school participation
  • Students taking psychotropic medication but need additional mental health+academic support 
  • Parents who want their child in a learning environment which values and promotes skills and awarenesses that go beyond the cognitive 

 

Can I use insurance?

Yes.  But it will depend on the extent of ‘out-of-network’ coverage and your policy's deductible.  For those opting to use insurance, I provide monthly invoices with mental health diagnosis and services offered, which can then be submitted independently to the insurance company for direct reimbursements.  

 

Where do you meet?

There are four meeting locations:

  1. Manhattan:  210 W. 70th and Amsterdam
  2. Manhattan:  80th and West End Avenue
  3. Briarcliff Manor:  1133 Pleasantville Road, Suite 2A
  4. Your home residence (when appropriate)

 

I just need a therapist for my son/daughter, is that OK?

I don’t want therapy of any kind, can you just tutor my son/daughter?

Yes.  I tutoring several students with this understanding.

 

What kinds of subjects do you tutor?

I offer subject-specific tutoring for writing, math, reading comprehension, Spanish, social studies, among others.  Contact me if you have further questions about the specifics of each subject.

 

What is the age range of student you will see for Dyadic Tutoring?

Ages 6-18

 

I want our school to be part of the collaboration, is that OK?

Yes.  I encourage schools to be part of the overall process, whenever parents desire that to be the case.  Of course, if the parent(s) wishes that the school not know, that wish is respected and all work will be done independently of teachers and school administrators.
